I guess I like italics (you know, those slanty letters and characters) and all, and yes, I do use them quite frequently myself, but, there is one certain person, one author that immediately springs to mind when the subject of overuse of italics is broached. And that author, that American author would be, naturally, obviously: Edgar Allan Poe. Surely, he was one of the biggest offenders when it comes to that overwhelming surplus of italics. It is amazing that he never ran out of them, never experienced a shortage! For, after all, he did use them quite frequently...too frequently, really. Often, almost every page had at least ten or more italicized words on it, so that he was like overemphasizing everything. I mean, I like his work, it is all very good, but come on! Clearly, no one would ever need to use that many italics!
( Note: The preceding has been a word from me, Douglas Kate. Thank you for listening. By the way, I may decide to write one or two more quick, brief notes today, but I haven't completely made up my mind regarding that yet.)
Stories, essays, logs, notes, addenda, puns, songs, poems, descriptions, satires, travelogues, memoirs, comedies, jokes, sociopolitical philosophy, criticism, amateur jurisprudence, etc. etc.
I proudly introduce to you....my web-log!
Hello, and welcome. You have arrived at a web-log on the Internet. I talk about and write about a great deal of elements essential to life and art and all that (not the show, of course!). Please feel free to read, enjoy and comment-all the while being engrossed by my op-ed pieces and criticisms and witticisms and descriptions, etc. And maybe even getting an all-access pass in time to visit my alternate blog: Well, thank you very much immensely for visiting and please remark. Either way, read on and tell me what you think. Bye!
